Your adventure begins in one of our beautiful sandstone cottages with uninterrupted views of the Cheviot Hills, complete with open fires and warming aga’s, the perfect place to unwind after a days hawking

After taking to the hill, each day will hold the opportunity to handle and hunt with a variety of birds of prey, including Falcons, Hawks and majestic Eagles. Every trip is unique and caters for the individual. Imagine the thrill and excitement of watching a bird of prey take to the skies, an experience not to be missed or rivaled.

Itinerary

DAY ONE: Breakfast (provided) introduction to the Hawks, a fascinating and revealing insight into the history of this sport of kings. Take to the hill under the direction and guidance of your Falconer. Watch and participate in the excitement of Hawks and Ferret working together in the pursuit of their quarry. The speed and agility of these natural born hunters is breathtaking. Guests are shown how to call a Hawk to the fist, the level of participation is decided by you. After a field lunch (guests are advised to pack sandwiches) you continue your hunting into the afternoon with the eagles, experiencing the power and grace of these majestic creatures.

DAY TWO: Breakfast (provided) Back to the hills.

DAY THREE: Breakfast (provided) Last chance to enjoy your experience of falconry and those last minute photo opportunities.

DAY FOUR: Breakfast (provided) Prepare to return home.

EVENINGS: After returning to the cottage, guests can choose to either prepare and cook the days catch, or eat at any of the local hostelries (eating out would be extra to the cost of of the trip). Evenings are dictated by the guests, warm fires, conversation and relaxation are all encouraged.

Costings & Requirements

The cost of a 3 night stay and hawking trip is £750.00 per person. 50% deposit is required upon booking. Please be aware the deposit is non refundable if you are unable to commit yourself to the booking.

  • This price includes 3 days hawking, breakfast and accommodation in a beautiful cottage. All other meals are self catering.
  • Each cottage sleeps up to 6 people. Groups are kept small for a personal touch.
  • Dogs welcome by arrangement at the cottage, but not in the field.
  • Trips can be tailored to the requirements of the guests. For an additional cost we can also arrange collection/drop off from Edinburgh aiport, stalking and fishing.
  • All hawking experiences are weather dependent, but we do try to provide alternative entertainment with trips to Holy Island and Oyster gathering etc…
  • Scottish Falconry Holidays run from September-March. Essential footwear (walking boots, wellies etc) and outdoor clothing are necessary.
